How the estimator works

The whole tool runs in your browser. Your answers are turned into an estimate by a set of published rate tables, and the written explanation and follow-up answers are assembled from those same answers by a rule-based engine that ships with the page. No answer, question or estimate is sent to our server or to any third party. There is no account, no form and no database.

Postal code

If you enter the first three characters of your postal code, they are used only to pick an area factor. A three-character prefix covers thousands of homes and does not identify you. It stays in your browser unless you create a shared link.

Shared links

The share button encodes your answers into the link itself. Nothing is stored on our side. Anyone with the link can see the answers and the resulting estimate, so share it with people you are happy to show it to.

Cookies and analytics

We set no cookies. Your dark or light theme preference is kept in your browser's local storage only. Our web host keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security, as every host does. If we add privacy-friendly analytics in future, this page will say so.

Third parties

The "Get an exact quote" button sends you to All Painting, an independent Toronto painting company. Their site has its own privacy policy. We receive no personal data from them and pass none to them beyond the referral in the link.
